Adhesion Test 란?

1. 개요

페인트 및 코팅 산업에서, adhesion test는 페인트 또는 코팅이 적절히 부착이되었는 지를 확인하기 위하여 자주 사용된다. Ahestion test에는 기질로부터 페인트 및 코팅의 저항성을 측정하기 위해 세가지 다른 테스트인 cross-cut test, scrape adhesion 및 pull-off test가 있다.

 

 

2. Cross-Cut Test

아래 그림과 같은 Cross-cut 장비를 이용하여 코팅 혹은 페인트된 외벽에 페인트의 접착력 또는 저항성을 측정한다. 이 테스트 방법은 일반적으로 코팅 또는 페인트의 접착력이 일반적으로 적절한 수준인지 여부를 설정한다. 만약에 이 테스트가 여러가지로 코팅된 샘플에 사용하는 경우에, 각각의 코팅 층을 분리하여 저항성의 평가가 이루어지도록 해야 한다.

2. Scrape Adhesion

The scrape adhesion test measures the determination of the adhesion of organic coatings when applied to smooth, flat panel surfaces. It is helpful in giving relative ratings for a number of coated panels showing significant differences in adhesion. The materials being tested are applied at uniform thickness to flat panels, mainly some sort of sheet metal. When the materials have dried the adhesion is determined by pressing panels under a rounded stylus that is loaded with increasing amounts of weight until the coating is removed from the substrate surface.

 

 

3. Pull-off Test (or Dolly Test)

 

1) 모든 페인트 제품의 한가지 코팅 또는 여러가지로 코팅된 샘플의 접착력은 기질에 대한 코팅을 수직으로 분리시키거나 파열에 필요한 최소한의 인장응력평가에 의해 측정된다. 다른 방법과 달리, 이 방법은 인장응력을 최대화한다. 따라서 결과치는 다른 것과 비교되지 않을 수 있다. 이 시험은 접착제와 함께 코팅의 표면에 대해 수직하중을 확보하여 이루어진다. 즉, 기기 또는 샘플에 페인트 작업을 한 이후에, 시편 또는 해당 기기에 대해 Dolly를 부착하여 부착력을 수치로 test하는 일종의 파괴시험이다.
